CBME Türkiye Supports Sustainable Development

For over 30 years, CBME Türkiye has been meeting the needs of the baby and children’s products sector in the Middle East, Balkans, North Africa, and Russia-CIS regions. CBME Türkiye continues to take steps to support sustainable development.

“As CBME Türkiye, we organize an environmentally conscious commercial event and strive to reduce the carbon emissions of our fair with our practices,” said CBME Türkiye Fair Director Hatice Dinçer. She mentioned that they have reduced printed materials, recycled many materials used in the event area from name badges to fair carpets, and saved electricity with LED lighting. “Since 2022, we have made our electricity usage carbon neutral by sourcing the energy we need at CBME Türkiye from renewable sources,” said Dinçer. She added that the 42nd meeting, which will be held at the Istanbul Expo Center with the participation of more than 1,000 brands, will inspire the sustainable development of the baby and children’s products sector.

The international baby and children’s products sector is looking forward to CBME Türkiye’s 42nd major meeting in December for new trade opportunities. The fair, which will bring together over 1,000 brands with 20,000 industry professionals from more than 120 countries, not only contributes millions of Turkish liras in direct trade but also guides the baby and children’s products sector with its sustainability practices.

CBME Türkiye Encourages Participants to Use “Eco-Friendly Stands”

CBME Türkiye Fair Director Hatice Dinçer stated that a medium-sized single-use stand produces approximately four tons of waste and that they are trying to guide and encourage participating companies on how to be more sustainable. Dinçer said, “In the sustainability checklist we prepared for our exhibitors, there are details such as stand design, transportation to the fair area, the material of promotional materials, lighting, and recycling of waste generated at the stand. The more our participants strive to comply with these, the more they will contribute to sustainability and reducing the carbon footprint.” She emphasized that one of the most important steps is to prefer reusable eco-friendly stands instead of single-use stands. “To facilitate this transition for exhibiting companies, we have divided our Better Stands program into three main stages: Bronze, Silver, and Gold. Our participants can access the detailed guide documents explaining this entire process on our corporate website,” said Dinçer.

Organized by Informa Markets, the world’s largest fair organizer, the Turkish leg of the CBME fairs, also held in China and India, will be held for the 42nd time at the Istanbul Expo Center from December 11-14, 2024. Innovations in the categories of ‘Baby and Child Transport and Safety Equipment,’ ‘Baby Care and Feeding,’ ‘Newborn and Baby Clothing,’ ‘Children and Teen Clothing,’ ‘Formal Wear,’ ‘Pajamas, Socks, Underwear, and Accessories,’ and ‘Furniture and Home Textiles’ will be showcased at CBME Türkiye 2024. Detailed information about the fair is available on the official website.
